What Type of Photographer Are you?
I’m a Lifestyle photographer and specialize in family, maternity, and newborns. What Lifestyle means to me is that I focus on capturing your connections, providing easy guidance so you never have to figure out what to do next. I’m all about showcasing your family interactions in an artistic and meaningful way.
What if it rains?
This is the Heartland, after all. Weather can change on a dime. For this reason, I will reschedule a session by two hours prior if it looks like rain. With every session I book, we pick a mutually agreeable rain date as we get closer to the session, if bad weather is possible.
What should we wear?
The age-old question! Mostly, I want you to be comfortable, and I believe in building the family wardrobe around mama. That said, I do have some specific ideas and suggestions which I detail for you as we prep for the session. All my families recieve my What to Wear Guide & Worksheet to get the ball rolling and keep all the pieces in one place!
How long does a session last?
Family and Maternity sessions last about an hour. Newborn sessions last about 2 hours.
How do we pick a location?
In an effort to better serve my families, I have several types locations to choose from that I have sought out, love, and consistently use. My families simply choose which type of location they want from there. I continue to scout and update locations. I’m always open to hearing about a special location that you’re leaning towards, as well!
What can I expect from our session together?
You can expect to be guided through the process before the session even begins. I offer location choices, get to know you better, and answer any questions during our prep time via email. During the session itself, my families relax and enjoy each other while letting me take care of the details. Each session is custom planned, but there’s always room for spontaneity as I capture your family personality. My families are crazy about each other, love getting close, and can always expect a variety of poses (that don’t feel too posey), child portraits, and a little romance.
How do you handle crabby kids!?
You mean your children aren’t perfectly behaved ALL the time? *gasp* Joking aside, I have four kiddos and have seen a good meltdown. There are several proactive suggestions that work wonderfully, which I will detail for you during our prep time. During the session, I make room for kids to be kids, and I never make them do anything they aren’t comfortable doing. I find children respond well to easy direction with promises of movement. They can enjoy themselves and regroup, while I create opportunities to capture all the images I want.
When do I receive my digital photos?
You’ll receive your digital photos via an online gallery for direct download within 4 weeks from your session date. I’ll also provide ideas for what you can do with your gallery, and answer any questions you may have on the printing process. Psst! You can print anywhere you want, though I have professional printing available if you choose.
Where can I print my photos?
You will be provided with a Print Release so that you have the ease print wherever you choose. You’ll also have the option to print professional quality images directly from your online gallery.
